There are some Macs that came with 10.4 that can install Mac OS X 10.11. A new tip discussing Sierra will be linked on the Snow Leopard and later tips. Mac OS X Sierra, to be released Septemis the first Mac OS X not compatible with Macs that run Leopard, however is compatible with some Macs that were released with Snow Leopard. Please ask on the appropriate Server forum if you are interested in Mac OS X Server. The server edition may have different limitations.
